Werner Arts and his four company co-founders had developed a product that should have revolutionized the market: an automated test system, which could monitor and analyse the heavy metal contamination in pure substances such as semiconductors using a laser technology. What they did not know: Two corporations had secretly been working on a similar technology and used their high market power to cut the ground from under the founders's feet . „We approached the whole thing a bit naive and had, of course, bad luck“ says Werner Arts about his first years in the company.
