The total organic carbon (TOC) reflects the samples' organic load. To monitor the quality of pure water, the TOC will be measured continuously and automatically by online analyzers.
LAR's QuickTOCpurity is an online analyzer customized for the determination of TOC in pure water and ultra pure water. The sample is injected via a special injection loop, avoiding any environmental influences to the sample. The heart of the TOC analyzer is the oven, where the thermal oxidation takes place. It works with the ultra high temperature combustion at 1,200°C, guaranteeing the complete oxidation of all organic compounds to carbon dioxide (CO2). Oxidation promoting catalysts, such as used with the thermal catalytic combustion method, are not necessary. Downstream of the oven, the produced CO2 will be measured by a NDIR (non dispersive infrared) detector resulting in the exact determination of TOC. The QuickTOCpurity determines the TOC content within three minutes. The TOC analyzer is able to measure up to 6 sample streams in one unit. It is operated by a self-explanatory software via a modern 10.4“ touchscreen display. Due to the integrated calibration and validation technique, called QuickCalibration, operators have the opportunity to check the analyzer automatically and remotely at any time. Hence, the time consuming preparation or the cost intensive purchase of liquid standards will be avoided.
Due to the fast and accurate TOC measurement, LAR's QuickTOCpurity allows the operators to take fast countermeasures in case of a water pollution.
