LAR's QuickCODlab is a chemical-free working COD analyzer for the determination of the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in water. Due to an innovative injection and oxidation technique, unfiltered water samples incl. particulates will be injected directly via a precision syringe into the oven. Optionally, an Autosampler for up to 60 samples is available. Using the Ultra high temperature combustion method at 1200 °C, all compounds are fully oxidized. As a result, no sample preparation and no chemicals are needed for oxidation. Furthermore, the measurement results are free of chloride interferences. The amount of oxygen needed for the complete combustion is detected by an oxygen detector. The determination of the COD takes place in less than 2 minutes. In contrast to cuvette tests and the potassium dichromate method, LAR's environmental friendly high temperature method used is characterized by a high operational safety and low cost of ownership.
